Me and my sister, we went on a quest,
She wanted a blister, I said “Give it a rest,”
But she flew into Tassie, despite my demands,
And we walked everyday, across all the lands

First there was grass, made of buttons you see,
It was long, it was hot, that day I believe,
I said to my sister, “This is the hardest walk I’ve ever done,”
She laughed and she said “We’re not halfway yet done!”

It was long, it was hot, we kept up the pace,
She tripped in the mud, so I made a face,
The grass made of buttons stretched far and wide,
But the campsite we aimed for was still bloody miles!

Onwards, not upwards, we went on our quest,
This bloody grass plain would not give us rest,
Every shrub, every creek, they all looked the same,
But my sister wanted a blister, so we played the game

After a while I tripped, she made a face,
But what was left of her grin, there was not a trace
When the bloody grass plain suddenly swerved
And became a darn hill – I think well deserved

You’d think the reward was worth going insane,
A beach on a mountain, with views quite insane,
But my sister she said, “I still haven’t got a blister!”
I said with hands raised, “Sorry this ain’t no ‘Pinta”

The very next day, we reversed all our tracks,
It was long, no one tripped, or even made a face,
An icy cold rain washed us in waves,
Somewhat a relief from those bloody grass plains

At last, in some hours, or possibly years,
I yawned, and she stretched, and she said quite sincere,
“Finally, I’ve done it, a big bloody blister!” –
But I knew she’d want more, cos she is my sister
