The Pursuit of Silence

This piece is an audio exploration into why we like to hike hours out in the remote backcountry and ride the steepest terrain in Australia. Shot during an overnight camp on the Western Faces of the Main Range, I wanted to capture not necessarily the exhilaration that this riding can give, but the sense of peace and stillness that only this type of landscape can provide. Australia's alpine is unique and beautiful and I tried to reflect that in the way that I put this film together. PS We contracted gastro on the second day which turned our adventure from amazing to horrendous in a matter of hours, so I hope it was worth it!
