The morning after we lost our friends

In the peak of summer, Liam, Corin, Josh, and I set out on an overnight hike through the Great Sandy National Park. About three hours in, Josh needed a poo, so Corin stayed with him while Liam and I continued ahead, assuming they'd catch up. After half an hour, we hadn’t seen them, so we started leaving stick arrows to mark our path, assuming they’d follow. When we reached camp at sunset, Josh and Corin were nowhere to be found. We started “Kooooo-eeeeing" but no sound of them. We started to get quite stressed, do we go back and look for them? Are they ok? Are they lost? Are they hurt? Liam ensured me that they will be ok, they must have just diverted down a different track and decided to set up camp. So we tried to get some rest. At 4 a.m., we set out with head torches, still wondering where the heck our friends were. After a few more kilometres, we reached the ocean and witnessed the most magical sunrise. Just another kilometre ahead, we finally found Josh and Corin camped near the beach. We screamed, laughed and hugged, relieved to be reunited after losing each other overnight—all because of a bush poo. Lesson learned: wait for your friend to finish their business before moving on.This picture was taken after we had found our friends on a salty disposable camera, Liam balancing on a washed-up tree, Josh and Corin were behind me, we were hot, exhausted, and thirsty, but so damn happy to be reunited after we lost each other overnight.... all because of a bush poo... Note to self: wait nearby til your friend finishes their poo or you might lose them.
